If you have Windows Vista, Windows 7 or have upgraded to Windows Live Essentials in XP then you will have a mail client either called 'Windows Mail' or 'Live Mail'

We will send you three pieces of information which you will need. The email address, password and mail server address. These are the same whatever software you use to send and receive mail. The process differs depending on which exact version of Windows / Live Mail you have and how it is set up. Some versions of Windows Mail under Vista work almost exactly like Outlook Express, if your version doesn't have large expanses of colour down the left hand side, then you should use these instructions.

Although the wording and layout may vary slightly, it should be straightforward and any variation will be minor. The settings will all be the same.

Step 1.
Open Windows / Live Mail. This will be in the start menu, either at the top of the main menu or under the Internet Tools or Windows Live submenus.

Step 2.
If this is the first time you are using this software you will be automatically prompted to add a new account. Otherwise click 'Add new e-mail address'.

Step 3.

The email accounts wizard will open, giving you a step-by-step means of setting up your email accounts. Select 'Add new email account'.

You will now be asked to enter the details of the account.

E-mail Address We will send this to you. It will be in the form of :

Password We will send this to you.
Display Name This is up to you, it is simply how the email address is identified in your computer.
Incoming Mail Server We will send this to you. It will usually be:
The server type will be POP3
Our servers are not configured for SSL. The default port should be used (110)
Log on using 'Clear text authentication'

Login ID This will be your full email address.

Outgoing Mail Server This will be the same as the incoming mail server.
Our servers are not configured for SSL. The default port should be used (25)
Our outgoing mail servers do require authentication.

Step 4.
Click 'Next', click 'Finish'.
