We will send you three pieces of information which you will need. The email address, password and mail server address. These are the same whatever software you use to send and receive mail.

Although the wording and layout may vary slightly, it should be straightforward and any variation will be minor. The settings will all be the same.

Setting up using Mail for Windows 10

Step 1:  If it's the first time you've run the Mail app in Windows 10, you will see a welcome screen and you simply click the Add account option. Otherwise, click the Settings gearwheel (on the bottom left), then Manage Accounts, Add account.

Step 2: Choose Advanced setup from the list of account types (it's at the bottom, you might have to scroll). You'll be asked to choose between Enchange ActiveSync and Internet email, choose Internet email.

Step 3: Enter the following information:
Account name: This is how the email address will be identified on your computer.
Your name: This is how your emails will be identified to people you send messages to.
Incoming email server: This will be the address your computer retrieves messages from, we will send this to you.
Account type: POP3 (our servers will allow you to use IMAP4 if you need to, but please get in touch with us before using this option as your emails will be left on the server and if the mailbox fills up new emails will be returned to sender).
Email address: Your email address as we sent it to you.
User name: Again, your full email address as we sent it to you.
Password: Your password as we sent it to you, be aware that it will be case sensitive so a is not the same as A.
Outgoing (SMTP) email server: This will be the address your computer sends messages through, we will send this to you.

There are then four options which should be set as follow:
Outgoing server requires authentication - Ticked
Use the same username and password for sending email - Ticked
Require SSL for incoming email - Not ticked
Require SSL for outgoing email - Not ticked

Step 4: Click sign-in and wait for Mail to synchronise with your account, this may take a couple of minutes.
